FAQs

Do I need to bring my child to my appointment?

Your child needs to come with you to enroll in the program and when we need to measure and weigh them in the office.

I missed my appointment. Can I reschedule?

Yes, you can reschedule your appointment. You can also walk-in during our business hours. Please call first to make sure we are open, as we may be closed due to scheduled trainings and meetings.

What’s the latest time I can come in?

Please come in at least 45 minutes before the scheduled closing time. This means if the WIC office closes at 5:00 p.m., we recommend that you come in no later than 4:15 p.m. so that we can process your files prior to closing. Again, this is to make sure we have time to process your WIC benefits.

I had my baby. What do I have to do?

Congrats! When you have your baby, call us at (714) 973-2411. We can enroll your baby over the phone and we ask that you have your alternate pick up your WIC checks.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

At all appointments, you need to bring your WIC ID and a picture ID. When we need to re-assess eligibility for WIC benefits, we need:

  • the child/mother who is on the program

  • proof of income (such as pay stub, county verification letter of benefits)

  • proof of address (piece of mail with the name of the person on the WIC ID)

  • Medi-Cal card and/or immunization record

Can I come in today?

Yes, you can walk-in anytime as long as we are open. Please call us to make sure we are not closed due to scheduled trainings or meetings.

I lost my WIC card. How do I get a new one?

We can replace it. Please call our office at (714) 973-2411 and we can issue you a new one.

I can’t remember when my appointment is…

You can check on your WIC mobile app for your next appointment. If you are unsure, please call us at (714) 973-2411.

What do I need to bring in to enroll in the WIC program?

To enroll in the WIC Program, you must be a pregnant woman, breastfeeding, or just gave birth, baby or child under 5 years of age. The person/child enrolling must be present.

We need a form of ID such as a driver’s license, birth certificate, Medi-Cal card, or immunization record.

Bring a document that provides income information such as a paycheck stub or bank statement.

The medical information that we need is the most recent weight and height (last 60 days) and blood test called hemoglobin/hematocrit (within the last 90 days). If the weight and height and the hemoglobin/hematocrit information is not available, we can do it in your office.
