FAQ

  • What do I need to bring in to enroll in the WIC program?

To enroll in the WIC Program, you must be pregnant, breastfeeding, recently given birth, or have a baby or child under 5 years of age. Both the caretaker and child being enrolled must be present. Please bring:

    • Photo ID such as a driver's license, birth certificate, Medi-Cal card, or immunization record

    • Proof of income such as a paycheck or bank statement

    • Height and weight of the child within the past 60 days

    • Blood test called hemoglobin/hematocrit within the last 90 days

If you do not have the weight, height, and hemoglobin/hematocrit information, we can measure it in our office.

  • What do I need to bring to my appointment?

At all appointments, you need to bring your WIC ID and a photo ID. If you are making an appointment to reassess eligibility for WIC benefits, you will need to bring:

    • The child and caretaker who is receiving benefits

    • Proof of income (such as a pay stub or county verification letter of benefits)

    • Proof of address (a piece of mail with the name of the person on the WIC ID)

    • Medi-Cal card and/or immunization record

  • I missed my appointment. Can I reschedule?

Yes, you can reschedule your appointment. You can also walk in during our business hours. Please call first to make sure we are open, as we may be closed due to scheduled training and meetings.

  • Do I need to bring my child to my appointment?

Yes, your child needs to come with you to enroll in the program. During your visit, we need to measure and weigh them.

  • What’s the latest time I can come in?

Please come in at least 45 minutes before the scheduled closing time. This means if the WIC office closes at 4:30 p.m., we recommend that you come in no later than 3:45 p.m. so that we have time to process your WIC benefits.

  • Can I come in today?

Yes, you can walk in anytime as long as we are open. Please call us to make sure we are not closed due to scheduled training or meetings.
