Families that qualify for WIC can receive healthy food, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and community support.
Who Is Eligible?
WIC is available to any family living in California that meets income and program guidelines, regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, religion, age, or disability.
Families Who are Eligible:
Pregnant/newly pregnant individuals
Breastfeeding women up to 1 year after giving birth
Non-breastfeeding women up to 6 months after giving birth
Infants and children under 5 years old
All foster children under 5 years old
Women who experienced a pregnancy loss for up to six months after a pregnancy ends
Single fathers
Families living in the U.S. that are undocumented or who have applied for citizenship (their application or legal status will not be jeopardized in any way)
Migrant, military, and working families
Services are provided after application acceptance. Families with low-to-medium income living in California and working families may qualify.
Gross Income Guidelines
To qualify for WIC, your current income must be equal to or less than the amounts listed below in the Gross Income Guidelines.
Current income is based on the household’s total income received before taxes within a month (30 days).
